Thanks to Taronga, Girl Guides NSW & ACT are once again offering our Guides some very extraordinary opportunities. For the 8 to 11 age bracket, there will be 15 places up for grabs in a special Girl Guides takeover of the Keeper for a Day program in January.

To apply, Guides must tell us what makes them an eligible applicant and what they know about the conservation of wild animals and zoos. These applications may take any form, such as a letter, a poster, a powerpoint presentation, infographic etc. The more creative the better!

If you are not sure what makes you an eligible applicant, you could consider points such as:
1) Who you are and some information about yourself
2) Why you would like to join Keeper
3) A description of what experience you have had with animals and why you like them
4) What things you do in your personal life for conservation and the environment
5) What you know about Taronga Zoo's conservation campaigns (hint: search the website!)

Completed applications are to be submitted to Lisa Harris by email or post using the heading Make me a Keeper for the Day. Email your application to, or for postal submissions send them to Lisa Harris, Girl Guides NSW & ACT, PO Box 950 Strawberry Hills NSW 2012.

Applications open 20 October and will be taken until 20 November, 2017.
