Start thinking about what you would like to do for JOTA-JOTI this year, for example:
JOTA vs JOTI vs JOTA + JOTI
Unit vs District vs Region vs Scouts + Guides
Who will be our radio operator +/- where will we get the computers
Where will we hold the event (camp vs day activity vs sleepover at Hall)
Form a JOTA-JOTI committee to co-ordinate the organisation

 
April

Confirm your radio operators +/- computers and internet connection.
Book your venue
Work out your budget
Start planning activities!
June
Advertise your event to your participants
Highlight the badge clauses which can be completed at your event e.g. Ears badge, Technology trefoil badge, Junior BP, BP, Queen's Guide...
 
July
Begin confirming your activities and finding the necessary resources
Inform your state JOTA-JOTI co-ordinator of your plans
August
Get your Unit ready for JOTA by:
Inviting a radio operator to your unit to chat about radios
Learn the Q-code or J-code
Practise talking into microphones
Practise spelling words in the phonetic alphabet
Design your own QSL card
Have a think about questions you could ask
September
Confirm your participant numbers
Inform your State JOTA-JOTI co-ordinator of your updated plans

JOTA-JOTI begins!!!
