Duke of Edinburgh Quick Start Guide
- Fill out an application form from Guide House, and send to the State Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator for Girl Guides NSW/ACT.
- If already participating in Duke of Ed through your school, you can transfer from your school to Girl Guides NSW/ACT by having a transfer form sent to you from the Guide Coordinator (Roslyn).
- You will receive (via email), a Participant’s Award Plan. If you are under 18, you will also be sent a Permission Form and Volunteer Declaration Form (for your assessors).
- Return these forms to Roslyn, who will contact you via email and allow you to then Register Online with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and commence the award through the Online Record Book (ORB).
- Submit your registration.
- Your Coordinator will accept you.
- You are given access to the ORB by following instructions provided in a system generated email.
- You can commence the Award and set up the Award activities in your My Award Setup section.
- Invite your assessors to register online to assess your activity if your assessor has an email address.
- Log your activities in the ORB weekly.
- The percentage completed for each award activity will appear in the My Award page to show progress.
- You will receive an invoice from Guide House which can be paid by credit card, money order or cheque. Bronze $80, Silver Direct $110, Silver follow on $45, Gold Direct $145, Gold follow on $45.
- Once 100% for an activity is reached you submit the activity to the appropriate assessor for approval. Regular effort per week is to appear for approval.
- You then submit to the coordinator for approval.
- Once all the sections are complete and approved the Award is then approved by the State Division.
- Certificates and Badges are mailed to coordinator.
