Multiculturalism in Guiding

As a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Guides Australia believes its membership should reflect the cultural diversity of the Australian community. Guides is a voluntary and non-political movement, enabling the growth of girls and young women ‘into confident, self-respecting responsible community members.’ Girl Guides Australia expects every member to develop her cultural identity without prejudice or disadvantage, and aims to prepare all girls and women to be responsible members of a multicultural society.

Girl Guides NSW & ACT membership is drawn from within our multicultural society and strives to reflect this.  This statement of commitment addresses the meaning of cultural diversity and efforts to increase cultural diversity in the context of Girl Guides NSW & ACT.
