The steps to becoming a Leader

Once an adult Member is registered as a Prospective leader she will receive the New Leader Kit from the District Leader or her representative.

Each Prospective leader is linked with a Guiding Partner, who provides support, encouragement and information.

Beginning Training

All Prospective leaders are required to attend a Guiding Awareness Training.

Guiding Awareness is usually one on one with the District Leader or her representative.

Leadership Development Training

Once a Prospective leader has shown competency in Guiding Awareness she may attend a Leadership Development Training. Her Guiding Partner will then work through the competencies for Leadership Development in the Journal.

The Prospective leader chooses which strands of Leadership interests her, either, Leader of Youth, Leader of Adults or Resource Leader.

Leadership Qualification

The Prospective leader must attend a state-run Leadership Qualification course before she can qualify as a Leader.

After attending this training the Prospective leader’s Guiding Partner will work with her through the competencies for Qualification in the selected Leadership strand.
