Get excited for one of the most highly anticipated Girl Guides NSW & ACT events!

There will be fundraising. There will be prizes.
There will be bedrolls. There will be Guide Biscuits.
There will be the Guide Shop, there will be activities.
There will be a film, there will be a dance party.
There will be awesome fun of epic proportions.
The first sleepover was held in 1996 on the steps of the Opera House to raise awareness and funds for homeless communities. Since then, the Sleepover has become an annual tradition, moving locations over the years but always funding a cause for the community. Now in its 24th year we are returning to Taronga Zoo for an eventful evening of sleeping under the stars, Guiding, animals, movies, dancing and more.

Note: This is not a Junior Guide event! Bridging Junior Guides must have all paperwork submitted and approved by Wednesday 31 July.

All ticket prices includes entry to Taronga Zoo + Catering + Administrative Sleepover cost at $80 for youth and $30 for adults and a tax deductible donation to Girl Guides NSW & ACT of $45 for youth and $45 for adults. Girl Guides Association of NSW is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 01 July 2000. It is covered by item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. 

Tickets are limited so get in early to avoid disappointment! The event is capped at 800 attendees this year and we will be taking a wait list should tickets sell out.

Adult Helpers - Required check

 Working With Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People 

Click the link above to submit your WWCC or WWVP for Great Guide Sleepover. All overnight Adult Helpers must have this on file with Girl Guides NSW & ACT before Monday 19 August. Free Public Transport


Transport for NSW has granted free public transport to Great Guide Sleepover event only.

Please click here to download a copy of the Transport NSW Free Transport letter. You must bring a printed copy with you to be able to access free public transportation for the event. 

Participants can travel to Taronga Zoo on Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink intercity and regional services, Sydney Ferries, Sydney Light Rail and Sydney metropolitan and outer-metropolitan bus services from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 August 2019. Only TrainLink regional services may be accessed on Friday 23 August to Monday 27 August 2019 for travel to the event (economy class seats only). 

All bookings must be made in advance prior to Friday 23 August 2019 by: 
• attending a NSW TrainLink sales outlet and presenting either official identification from Girl Guides NSW & ACT or a copy of Transport NSW Free Transport letter; or 
• telephoning NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32.

Girl Guides and Girl Guide Leaders will be required to wear their uniforms with the Girl Guide trefoil. Volunteers must present either official identification from Girl Guides NSW & ACT and carry a copy of the Transport NSW letter.
If you park in a Transport Park&Ride car park, use the intercom button at the exit gate and advise the operator that you are a participant in the 2019 Great Guide Sleepover event. You may be asked to show either their official identification from the Girl Guides NSW & ACT or a copy of the Transport NSW Free Transport letter to the car park operator who can then manually open the gate.

You must be a current Member of Girl Guides NSW & ACT in good financial standing to attend. Please make sure your membership is current before registering and have your membership number available to sign up online. 

Registrations Close: 11:59pm Monday 5 August, unless event is filled prior to this date. There are no name changes or refunds after Monday 5 August.

All refund requests must be submitted to the Member and Supporter Engagement Team via email to events@girlguides-nswact.org.au and will only be processed under extenuating circumstances.

Refunds for the zoo will not include the $45 fundraising amount per each ticket.

REGISTRATION & REFUND POLICY COURSES:
You must be a current Member of Girl Guides NSW & ACT in good financial standing to attend. Membership must be current before registering.
Registrations close 4 weeks prior to Course date unless sold out prior.
There are no name changes or refunds after the registration close date.
Under certain circumstance, within the Courses Department, a transfer rather than a refund may be considered. Transfers will be to the next available equivalent course in the calendar year.
All refund requests must be submitted via email to courses@girlguides-nswact.org.au
 
REFUNDS
All refunds must be requests via email. Refunds are not offered after the registration close date. However, refunds will be considered after the registration close date under extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical emergency or death in the family).

CANCELLATIONS
If an event is cancelled, registrants will be refunded. However, in the event of the cancellation of a fundraising event, ticket price will be refunded minus the amount of the donation included. If a course is cancelled attendees will be offered a transfer to another instance of the same course.
