Volunteering with Girl Guides is a fun and rewarding way to help open a world of possibilities for girls. You simply need a little extra time, and the desire to do something worthwhile and fulfilling.
Whatever your skills, availability and interests, there’s a place for you in our inspirational team of volunteers. And with more than 250 Guide Districts in NSW and the ACT, there are countless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of girls and young women, as they find their voice, their confidence, and their future direction through Guiding.

Lead and empower girls and young women. Build personal capacity. Help create a better world.

Girl Guides is for girls, by girls. It’s a lot of fun, but also requires a lot of work—which is where you, as a volunteer, can make a difference. At all levels, volunteering is exciting and fulfilling, but first and foremost, it’s about encouraging curious and clever girls to develop the skills they need to thrive in a complex and quickly changing world. It enables you to grow your management and leadership capabilities, while connecting you to a social network of like-minded women empowering each other—some of whom may well become lifelong friends. And it gives you the chance to take action on issues that affect the lives of women in your local community, across Australia, and even globally.

Lead girls in your community

Lead a group girls in either Pre-junior Guides (5–7years), Junior Guides (7–10 years), Guides (10–14 years) or Senior Guides (14–17), helping them to run activities, games, projects and events.

Manage a team of volunteers

Help coordinate other volunteers and ensure the smooth running of Guide Districts and Regions.

Share your skills in other roles

There are numerous other ways you can put your talents to work, such as helping your local Guide District maintain its meeting place, promoting Guides in the community, fundraising, assisting with administration—and much more.
