A Place To Grow Launches

01 MAY 2019
Welcome to a very special Girl Guides Month 2019. This year, we kick-off the month with our new campaign A PLACE TO GROW. This campaign was designed from insights sourced from the Girl Guides NSW & ACT community in late 2018.

The entire organisation from Units, Districts and Regions are working together to launch this campaign to:

  1. Raise awareness of the wonderful work of Girl Guides
  2. Share the amazing stories of our girls, their parents and our volunteers / adult members
  3. Invite others to find out more and consider joining Girl Guides as a young girl or volunteer
  4. Encourage current Guides to extend their journey

You’ll find our campaign on Facebook , Instagram , being presented at schools, shared amongst families and friends, in local newspapers and more for the month of May and beyond.

We are Girl Guides—A Place to Grow

The world of a young girl is more complex than ever before; school pressures, family life, a digital reality, global perspectives and raised expectations, means navigating their own path can be sometimes tough and confusing.

What they need more than ever is a community of people they can call their own. A place where they are considered perfect just as they are, a place they can try new things, learn new skills, make life-long friends, and develop a rounded view of the world.

A place that encourages her to develop a positive self-image, confidence and self-esteem. Somewhere she can spend time with people who can show her how to help the community and look out for a neighbour in need. A place where experience can be shared. A place where her appreciation for the natural world can be sparked and wonder revealed.
There is only one place where a young girl can experience this and more.

The Girl Guides.

We have a century of experience in supporting young girls become the women of tomorrow. And whilst the world has changed, the need to support our young girls to realise their potential—has not.
We are empowering the women of the future; for they will not only impact their families, communities, and country—they will change the world.

We're Girl Guides, a place to grow.

What do we mean by?

Place
= the physical place where Girl Guides meet. It is a reference to the structure of the organisation, and the larger Australian community. It is also a reference to the ‘space’ the Girl Guides hold for each other—a safe, non-judgemental and empowering place to be.

Grow = the growth of the whole person; the development of their skills, talents, knowledge and projects. It is also a reference to the growth of relationships between Girl Guides, the volunteers, and community.
