COVID 19 Update State Girl Guides Events Postponed

13 March 2020
An Update from Girl Guides on the Impact of Covid-19 On State Events

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our members and have made the tough decision to postpone all State Events until further notice.

As a Member Association built around the idea of bringing people together to overcome challenges, make new friends and have adventures, our next priority at this time is to remain flexible and vigilant in our efforts to achieve the Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT mission.

As the world faces growing uncertainty and fast-paced changes to routine social and business norms, Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT is taking a day-by-day approach to contingency planning and mitigating the risks posed by Covid-19 as it pertains to what we do as an Association.

First and foremost, we want our members to know that every decision will be made with their health and safety in mind. As we work to figure out the best ways to move forward, we anticipate there will be changes to our normal ways of working. This may include deadline dates, event, course or meeting locations, and processes.

At this time, our hope is that we can continue to proceed as planned, but our team is working hard to plan for a number of alternate scenarios if it becomes necessary to move or otherwise alter any future events or activities.

One thing we know for sure, Girl Guides gives members confidence, resilience and valuable life lessons. We have a century of experience in supporting young girls to become the women of tomorrow and are confident that our Girl Guides will be some of the best equipped members of society to deal with any eventuality that may be caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re monitoring the situation every day and will be in touch with any changes as they develop. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our team at 1300 447 548 or over email.

We would like to remind everyone to practice good, regular, safe hand hygiene, to cover coughs, and to stay home if unwell. Stay safe, and please follow Government advice.
