Sydney Jamboree provides opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of Key Volunteers

At the closing Ceremony of the Sydney Jamboree 2018 the efforts of all Volunteer Leaders was acknowledged but there were three Leaders whose efforts were recognised through the presentation of the following Good Service Awards.

Helen Eggleton was awarded the Grey Kangaroo in recognition of her role as 2018 Jamboree Convener, the first Grey Kangaroo to be awarded to a member of Girl Guides NSW & ACT. Helen demonstrated sustained good service that placed major demands on her time and resources.  Helen is to be commended for being a collaborative worker, not only with her team, but with other Volunteers, Executive Committee and Staff. Helen has given her all to provide our youth members with an outstanding event based on the Australian Guide Program and has ensured a good working environment for our adult members.

Kylie Gray was awarded the Flowering Gum in recognition of significant commitment to Girl Guides Australia through her role as 2018 Jamboree Leader in Charge (Program). Kylie brought together a team and mentored them to provide the best activities possible for youth members. Kylie is commended for proactively promoting Guiding to the wider community and for outstanding management in the Cessnock District. 

Jo-Ann Tonon was awarded the Wattle in recognition of her effective contribution to Girl Guides Australia through her role as 2018 Jamboree Leader in Charge (Sites and Services). Jo coordinated the enormous task of providing equipment and managing the services onsite for the duration of the Jamboree; particularly observing the environmental requirements of the historical site. In addition to this role, she continues to support the District Managers in the Hunter River Division. 

These awards demonstrate the significant contribution made to the overall success of Sydney Jamboree 2018. BRAVO to Helen, Kylie and Jo-Ann.
