Girl Guides launch all new biscuit range—modernising the 60-year tradition

31 July 2020

For over 60 years, Girl Guide Biscuits have been sold to raise funds for new equipment, camps, outings, adventures and learning programs. Today, the iconic tradition is relaunching with a new modernised range which has been designed to represent the values of the organisation.

The new range of biscuits officially launched today, with new flavours, a new look and new sizing, but the same ultimate mission—empowering girls and young women through fun, friendship and adventure!

The range consists of locally made, individually wrapped 50g biscuits which include; an ANZAC, Triple Choc and Gluten Free Lemon, Lime and Coconut biscuit (which is endorsed by Coeliac Australia). The biscuits are being sold online , direct to the public and can even be sent as a gift (with gift message) to loved ones via the Girl Guide Biscuits website.

The impact of COVID-19 means typical face-to-face selling will be restricted. As such, the new range of biscuits will be predominately sold online.

Girl Guides Chief Commissioner, Rosemary Derwin, said the new biscuit fundraiser reflects the values of Girl Guides across Australia.

“Our Guide Law speaks about making better choices for the world, our Mission Statement says we endeavour to empower girls and young women to be responsible community members,” Rosemary said.

“Our new biscuits are free from artificial additives, artificial flavours, preservatives and most importantly are palm oil free. All eggs are also free range. The cardboard packaging is made using recycled content. The packaging and the biscuit wrappers are also recyclable. Our new biscuits are about our values and we are proud about what they say about us as an organisation.
And as our communities are challenged during this global pandemic, we are thrilled to be supporting local manufacturers and in turn their communities. The biscuits are also individually wrapped and can be ordered as gift boxes for; loved ones, colleagues, friends, emergency workers, health care professionals or teachers."

The new biscuits are available online now for pre-orders. The first shipments will be made in mid-August. To purchase and find out more visit girlguidebiscuits.com.au
