What are Point Clare Girl Guides made of?
26 JUN 2019
One creative Saturday, 15 July, 25 Girl Guides aged 6–12 from three different Units attended a GirlMade workshop at Point Clare Guide Hall.
During the four-hour workshop participants explored the concept of leadership across four different mediums: watercolour paints; pastels and chalks; pencil drawing; and collage.
The workshop is one of several held in the Coastal Valleys Region of Girl Guides NSW & ACT. It is being held to help prepare participants to enter The GirlMade Project, Girl Guides NSW & ACT’s biennale Association wide art competition and exhibition.
The GirlMade Project showcases the diverse and creative talents of the girls and young women of Girl Guides NSW & ACT through artworks.
Girl-led Guiding in action, the 2019 Project has the people’s choice theme of leadership.
Participation is simple: create an artwork; fill in the entry form; submit artworks to Region exhibitions.
One of the workshop’s participating Girl Guides Mia, aged 9 interpreted leadership as
many hands make a team and without a team you have no leadership.
