Jackadgery (Magpie Park)

Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, amongst the splendour of the beautiful Australian bush, a tranquil environment hosts the experience that awaits the visitor to Magpie Park.
The site offers a unique opportunity to get an unforgettable feeling for the magnificant North Coast hinterland.
Magpie Park comprises of twenty acres of unrivalled natural beauty, kangaroos and a wide variety of birds. In addition, the wilderness wonderlands of Washpool and Gibralter Range National Parks are a pleasant hour’s drive along the Gwydir Highway.

Campsite

There  is extensive equipment for six patrol camps, including bell and dome tents, fully equipped patrol boxes, kitchen shelters, and cooking equipment. 

 

Accommodation

The indoor accommodation includes eighteen single beds in one large room, a Leader's room with two single beds, and another separate room with five single beds. All with solar power ceiling lights.

 

Amenities

There are two toilets, two showers and three basins for use, with hot water.

Camping amenities:
There are four outdoor long drop toilets and four showers heated by one boiler. This is a bush site but all equipment is supplied. There are three tanks which supply drinking water.

  • Archery—equipment is available (must be requested 
    at time of booking and a deposit is required)
  • Large cleared area for games and activities including T-Ball, volleyball, variety of balls and ropes, large twister game
  • Tree grove for pioneering and stalking activities
  • Short walk to the Mann River for water activites
  • Twenty minute drive to nearby waterholes for swimming
